Mediavest Appoints Foote As Group Strategy Director

Starcom Mediavest London has appointed Nigel Foote to the position of group strategy director, with responsibility for providing planning solutions across the agency’s entire client portfolio.

Foote, who takes up the role at the beginning of next year, will head up the strategic intelligence unit with a remit to advise on analysis in the development of consumer insight, provide evidence for contact proposals, and deliver methods of accountability for proposed media strategies.

Foote joins from Taylor Nelson Sofres, where he is currently managing director of its media intelligence division. He has extensive experience in the media industry and previously spent six years at Mediavest as strategy director and planner on a number of key businesses.

Commenting on the appointment, Starcom UK group chairman, Jim Marshall, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nigel back to Starcom, he has always been a fantastic resource and will be a brilliant asset as we move forward with our fuelling brand power vision.”

Foote added: “This is a challenging, wide-ranging, role that allows me to drive strategic thinking, resource and analysis to deliver unique brand-building insights for an unrivalled range of clients.”

Mediavest was renamed Starcom Mediavest earlier this year after Publicis Group acquired the Starcom brand in the UK. The group operates a single legal entity with shared back-office resources, but the two agencies continue to have separate identities.

Earlier this month ZenithOptimedia’s managing director, Greg Turzynski, stepped down to pursue other opportunities, in a move that prompted the agency to restructure its senior management team (see ZenithOptimedia Loses Turzynski As Managing Director).
