Capital Gold Teams With Biography Channel For Ad Deal

The Capital Gold Network and The Biography Channel have come together to launch a reciprocal promotion and sponsorship deal to raise awareness of their brands.
The month-long deal aims to drive viewers to The Biography Channel’s Music Month output for November, whilst providing the Capital Gold Network with a television presence as sponsors of the channel’s music biography series.
There will also be a promotion of the Music Biographies series on Capital Gold, which will involve a competition on David Jensen’s Morning Show, Rock The Globe, giving listeners the chance to win tickets to see artists live in key destinations around the world.
The show will also host a month-long Biography Channel-sponsored feature called The Story Behind The Song using Capital Gold’s audio archive to allow listeners to hear the likes of Sting and Elton John talk about the inspiration behind their most popular tracks.
Commenting on the deal, Capital Gold Network managing director, Lyn Long, said: “The joint venture between Capital Gold and The Biography Channel has resulted in excellent cross-media content between TV and Radio.”
She added: “Capital Gold is a powerhouse of musical expertise which plays the greatest hits from the last four decades, making it the natural radio station for The Biography Channel to raise awareness of its exciting Music Month promotion.”
Earlier this year Capital Gold launched a six-figure brand advertising campaign across black cabs in central London to build awareness of the station in the capital. The push followed a logo change at the network and a repositioning of the product to appeal to a younger 35 to 54 year old audience (see Capital Gold London Launches Taxi Ad Campaign).
The latest RAJAR results for the three months to September show that the Capital Gold Network saw its weekly reach decline by 10.6% year on year to 1,454,000, down from 1,626,000 in the same period the previous year.
