Wavemaker appoints Jon Gittings as international head of strategy

WPP agency Wavemaker has appointed Jon Gittings to international head of strategy, where he will be responsible for developing US-based global new business opportunities.

He will be based on the West Coast of the US, and also work on clients Adobe and Colgate’s global brand strategy, reporting into global chief strategy and product officer, Stuart Bowden.

Gittings was most recently EVP for strategy North America at sister WPP agency Essence from 2018. Prior to that he held leadership strategy, growth and planning roles at Mediacom, OMG and OMD.

Bowden said Gittings will give the agency “a bridgehead to expand our US client relationships to the rest of the world and will enable us to strategically lead global clients headquartered on the West Coast.”
