J-ET Subscribers Unite To Discuss Future Development

The J-ET electronic trading and accountability system for commercial radio campaigns has marked almost a full year of operation with a seminar to discuss the future development of the product.

Senior sales point and agency subscribers attended the seminar at the IPA’s offices in Belgrave Square and provided enthusiastic support for the system, which now manages booking and accountability for over 75% of all national radio advertising spend.

The seminar resulted in a number of positive and creative ideas for enhancing the J-ET product going forward, which will help ensure that radio trading and accountability maintains its position ahead of other media.

Max Davies, director of JICRIT, said: “The seminar demonstrates that despite the J-ET system being fully up and running, radio buyers and sellers remain keen to work together towards developing the system even further than originally anticipated.”

Mike Buckley, radio director at ZenithOptimedia, added: “J-ET has completely transformed the radio buying process, making it easier to trade and much more accountable. It is well ahead of comparable systems for other media and they should be very envious. However, nothing stands still and we are fully behind developing the J-ET system even further.”

Earlier this year an online survey of J-ET users at key agencies and sales points suggested that the system is already helping to revolutionise the planning, buying and selling of air-time (see J-ET Trading System Boosted By Survey Results).

Capital Radio recently announced its intention to bring greater accountability to the radio sponsorship and promotions market, with the launch of a new digital tracking system to measure on-air credits that could potentially link into the J-ET system (see Capital Radio Launches Sponsorship Tracking System).
