Dennis Restructures With Appointment Of Ex-Hachette Boss
![]()
Dennis Publishing has announced the biggest ever shake-up of its senior management team with the appointment of Viven Cottrill as the managing director of its consumer division.
The shake up will see Alistair Ramsay step up to become CEO of Dennis Publishing UK and James Tye has been promoted to managing director of the computer division. Tom Gleeson joins Dennis as its new chief financial officer and Anna Hyde is to take up the position of advertising director of consumer magazines. Bruce Sandell joins as a new Group Publishing Director.
Following the acquisition of I Feel Good publishing earlier this year (see New Acquisition Makes Dennis Feel Good), Dennis Publishing is gearing itself for a period of further growth, both by further acquisition, partnership and launch.
Commenting on the shake-up, Ramsay said: “At long, long last the tide has turned. Our huge gamble in the USA has borne spectacular fruit and after six cash-starved years the money is coming home. This company is ready to rock’n’roll!”
Felix Dennis added: “Funding a start-up in America which grew from zero to over $200 million turnover in just six years came close to killing us as an independently financed company. At one point it threatened to destroy the parent company as the latter laboured under the burden of feeding and nurturing a gigantic cuckoo in the nest. But all’s well that ends well even if I did have to sell a couple of Rolls Royces!”
Dennis will comprise Felix Dennis, Alistair Ramsay, Tom Gleeson, Julian Thorne, James Tye and Vivien Cotterill with Richard Pountain and Ian Leggett as non executive directors.
Dennis recently extended its computer magazine portfolio with the launch of a new monthly title, Custom PC (see Dennis Launches New Computer Title).
