IPC Invests £1 Million In Classified Overhaul

IPC has unveiled plans to overhaul its classified ad division with a £1 million investment in training and software across the group.
The shake-up will mark a major evolution in IPC’s strategy, with all 130 staff receiving new training and equipment. The company believes the investment will help equip it for clients’ demands in the 21st century, as well as providing the foundations for future growth.
The new IT package will enhance every aspect of classified activity throughout the business, and will underline IPC’s fundamental commitment to grow classified revenues across its brands.
The enhanced technology will integrate and streamline all facets of IPC’s classified advertising sales, production and management processes, including order entry, scheduling, pricing, composition, pagination, and management reporting. The technology will process over 4,000 classified ads each week in IPC’s portfolio of almost 100 consumer titles.
Commenting on the investment, IPC Classified’s group ad director, Cathy Neale, said: “We’ve undertaken a rigorous process to find the right system to take our classified operation to the next level. Classified is a fundamental revenue generator in all its different forms across the business, and this system â when fully implemented â will really allow us to fulfil our potential going forward.”
IPC Ignite recently relaunched its veteran music title, NME, with the support of an extensive above the line marketing campaign (see IPC Relaunches NME With Above The Line Campaign).
