IPC is launching another one shot publication off the back of its weekly entertainment magazine for women, Chat.
The Chat Autumn Special is on sale for seven weeks and features a mix of real life stories, puzzles and quirky humour. The magazine, which has a coverprice of £1.50, also contains eight pages on hair and diet, as well as a range of features designed to appeal to its core readership of mums aged between 20 and 40.
Publisher, Niall Clarkson, said: “Our two Chat Summer Specials were a resounding success and this new Autumn Special takes our seasonal publishing to a new level. This marks our tenth special this year, which goes to show that Chat‘s readers can’t get enough of their favourite title.”
Chat has seen its circulation fluctuate significantly over the last ten years, in line with the increasingly volatile women’s weekly magazine market. However, the latest ABC results brought good news to the title, which saw its circulation improve by a healthy 11.8% year on year to 575,585, up from 515,000 in the same period the previous year.

Display ad revenue figures from Nielsen Media Research also reveal a strong performance for Chat during the same period. The magazine recorded a 5.3% year on year increase to 2,243,752, up from 2,130,436 in the first half of 2001.
Last month IPC’s flagship lifestyle magazine, Wallpaper*, appointed Rowena Ratnam as its first ever marketing manager (see Wallpaper* Appoints First Ever Marketing Manager). Ratnam joined from a business development role at photographic agency Red Door and previously spent six years as communications manager at Rodale.
