Telegraph Secures Honda For Boat Show Promotion

The Telegraph has secured Honda Extreme Sports Cruisers to support a promotion to raise awareness of its association with the Southampton Boat Show.

The deal will see 13 readers of the Daily Telegraph get the chance to win a Honda Accord Tourer and use of a Honda Extreme Sports Cruiser. To enter the competition readers will have to collect four tokens from the Daily Telegraph.

Commenting on the initiative, Mark Dixon, marketing director at Telegraph Group Limited, said: “The Daily Telegraph has outstanding yachting coverage, which we are delighted to support by sponsoring the Southampton Boat Show. The show adds to our yachting portfolio, which includes the Schroders London International Boat Show and the RYA Dinghy Sailing Show.”

The Southampton Boat Show runs from 12 to 21 September at Mayflower Park. Highlights of the show include food by Anthony Worrall Thompson and a replica of the Golden Hinde, as well as gear, gadgets and equipment.

The Telegraph has benefited from association with a number of events, including the annual Spirit Of Christmas exhibition and the recent My Favourite Dress exhibition, which it hopes will help raise the profile of its titles.

The group has also been using events to attempt to engage with a younger audience and recently sponsored the Rip Curl Boardmasters surf and skate festival in Newquay (see Surf’s Up As Daily Telegraph Targets Younger Readers).

The Telegraph Group recently secured HSBC Bank as the exclusive six-figure sponsor of its new business sections (see Telegraph Banks On HSBC To Sponsor Business Sections).
