Flytxt Secures Novartis For Pollen Alert SMS Campaign

Flytxt has secured Novartis Consumer Health for an innovative campaign to promote the launch of Aller-eze nasal spray and eye drops throughout the summer hay fever season.

The SMS campaign, which coincides with with Allergy Week (12-18 May), will enable consumers to receive personalised, up to date, regular pollen count information through their mobile phones. Subscribers will get regular updates when the pollen count is particularly high in their geographic location alongside tips to help manage hay fever.

The new text initiative is part of a high profile marketing campaign which includes the distribution of pollen alert cards in UK cities, card cover mounts and inserts in pharmacy trade publications and point of sale displays in chemists.

The service will be free for a month to the first 5,000 people to sign up and then a charge of 10p will be made for each message. The service will run throughout May and to the end of July.

Last month, Associated Newspapers appointed Flytxt as its wireless partner, across its newspaper titles, as part of its plan to increase mobile marketing activity (see Associated Steps Up Mobile Marketing Activity).
