Bauer’s Greatest Hits Radio has overtaken Global’s Capital in terms of weekly listeners to its breakfast shows, according to the latest Rajar audience figures.

Greatest Hits at Breakfast with Rossie, hosted by Simon Ross, registered 2.7 million weekly listeners, a growth quarter-on-quarter of 17.4%.

Meanwhile Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp declined by 2% quarter-on-quarter to 2.5 million weekly listeners.

Global’s Heart is still the top commercial breakfast show in terms of weekly reach. Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden recorded 3.8 million weekly listeners over the last quarter, a small jump of 1.3% on the previous quarter.

BBC stations retained the top three national station spots in terms of weekly reach during the breakfast timeslot. BBC Radio 2 is the biggest station in terms of weekly reach with 6.5 million listeners, but recorded the largest year-on-year decline in weekly audience of -11.6%.

This carries on a trend from the previous Rajar quarterly radio audience figures, wherein all five BBC Radio stations saw year-on-year declines.

GB News Radio experienced the biggest quarterly growth in weekly audience reach for the breakfast slot with 22.6%, taking them to 163,000 weekly listeners.
