The Daily Telegraph has secured the French tourist board, Maison de la France, as the sponsor of a special travel supplement to be published later this month.
The one off 24-page tabloid-style supplement will focus on holiday resorts, activities for children and places of cultural interest. It will also include promotions and features covering specific regions in France such as Poitou Charentes, the Midi Pyrenees, the Western Loire and Massif Centrale.
The special supplement will contain a range of advertisers including Eurotunnel, Bridge Travel and Brittany Ferries. The sponsorship deal was negotiated Kimberly Butler a strategic planner at Telegraph Group Commercial Development.
Earlier this year the Telegraph Group secured sponsorship deals for three special travel supplements, which were developed to coincide with the New Year holiday booking season (see Telegraph Gets A Flying Start With Travel Deals).
The Daily Telegraph recently underwent a comprehensive redesign (see Daily Telegraph Launches Nation-Wide Ad Campaign), which was supported by an estimated £8 million worth of marketing activity and the group’s largest ever outdoor advertising campaign (see Daily Telegraph Launches Biggest Ever Outdoor Campaign).
The latest ABC results for the six months ending March 2003 show that the Daily Telegraph‘s circulation fell by 6.3% year on year to 946,343, down from 1,009,499 in the same period in 2002.
