Maiden Secures £20m Outdoor Contract For Manchester
![]()
Maiden Outdoor has beaten-off competition from incumbent Clear Channel to secure the £20 million contract for Manchester City Council’s outdoor sites.
The ten year contract includes 200 48-sheet sites and 20 96-sheet sites and makes Maiden the biggest outdoor contractor in the Manchester area.
Commenting on the deal, a spokesman for Maiden Outdoor said: “We will be investing in improving the quality of the existing boards and will be installing more tri-vision and backlighting. Over time we will also be looking to raise the number of sites in the area.”
Last month Maiden launched an audience measurement system for poster panels at major supermarkets, in a move that will bring a new level of accountability to the sector (see Maiden Unveils Media Measurement Tool For Supermarkets).
In another move towards increased accountability, the Outdoor Advertising Association recently announced plans to develop and manage a new poster performance reporting system in association with ISBA and the IPA (see OAA Unveils New Poster Reporting System).
