Kelce brothers touchdown huge podcast deal with Amazon

NFL superstars Jason and Travis Kelce have secured a massive deal with Wondery, the popular podcast platform owned by Amazon, landing a three-year contract worth over $100 million for their hit podcast, “New Heights.”

Exclusive ad-sales and distribution rights

According to multiple media reports, Wondery gains exclusive ad-sales and distribution rights for “New Heights” under the terms of the deal. This grants them global distribution of all existing and future audio and video episodes, including the show’s back catalog. Additionally, Wondery can now create international audio adaptations, potentially expanding the Kelces’ reach to new audiences worldwide.

“New Heights,” launched in 2022, has quickly become a fan favorite, offering a unique blend of sports commentary, insightful interviews, personal anecdotes, and a dash of pop culture. The show’s popularity soared last season after Travis Kelce’s high-profile relationship with singer Taylor Swift became public knowledge.

Production remains with Wave Sports + Entertainment

While Wondery takes over monetization and distribution, the production of “New Heights” remains with Wave Sports + Entertainment. However, fans can expect some changes. Episodes will be available early and ad-free on Wondery’s subscription service, Wondery+. The service will also host an annual live stream event for the show, further engaging with fans. The agreement opens doors for future collaborations, potentially leading to live events and even exclusive merchandise lines developed with the Kelce brothers.

Monster deals in the podcasting world

This deal underscores the evolving podcast landscape, where a select few shows are capturing massive audiences and attracting premium advertising dollars. The Kelce brothers’ success exemplifies this shift and positions them as major players in the podcasting world.

Last week, Alex Cooper struck a deal – valued at more than $100 million – with SiriusXM for “Call Her Daddy”. Last month, Wondery signed comedian Dax Shepard to a roughly $80 million podcasting deal, taking over distribution and ad sales for “Armchair Expert” from Spotify.
