BSkyB was seen in focus, up 2.05% week on week, on speculation that its chief executive, Tony Ball, is to leave the company to oversee DirecTV and News Corp’s other global satellite interests.
Week on week analysis of the media sector saw key stocks in recovery, as bargain hunters moved in after last week’s sell-off. Granada was seen up 7.98% week on week, with analysts claiming that war related advertising losses are already priced into the shares.
Elsewhere, investors considered reports that the Guardian Media Group has opened talks to buy rest of the Trader Media Group.
