IAB Appoints First Ever Research Manager

IAB Appoints First Ever Research Manager

The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has appointed Laurence Bour as its first ever research manager, as part of its drive to double the volume of internet advertising by autumn 2004 (see IAB Plans To Double Internet Ad Spend In Two Years).

Bour will manage the IAB’s three year research programme alongside the Research Working Group, which includes the heads of research from over twenty online companies and governs the IAB’s strategy. She will also oversee research into the effectiveness of internet advertising and will manage weekly research-based seminars.

Bour previously worked at Fox Kids Europe where she was senior executive in charge of pan-European research. Prior to this she worked at The Walt Disney Company in various research positions.

Danny Meadows-Klue, chief executive of the IAB, commented: “The research agenda is a wide-ranging role – as well as the projects we commission ourselves, we partner with every major internet research player to maximise the scope of data available to marketers. Bour will be a tremendous asset to the IAB and the online industry.”

Earlier this month the IAB launched a consultation process in order to seek industry approval for a range of larger ad formats (see IAB Launches Consultation Drive For Bigger Ads). The industry bosy also recently appointed former ITV and Pearson chief executive, Richard Eyre, as its chairman (see IAB Appoints Eyre To Drive Growth Of Online Advertising).
