Granada Brings Skips To Kids With Stars In Their Eyes

Granada has secured United Biscuit brand Skips as the six-figure sponsor of the new series of Stars In Their Eyes: Kids on ITV1.

The show, where children get the chance to appear on stage as a tribute to their favourite musical star, will be presented by Cat Deeley and will culminate in a live final when viewers will get the chance to vote for their favourite musical act.

The deal, which was negotiated by Adam Bishop at Starcom Motive and Ella Fletcher at Granada Enterprises, includes full broadcast sponsorship of the Saturday evening, peak-time show, as well as a range of licensing and on-pack promotions.

The creative is being produced by Publicics and features the animated tongue from the previous Skips campaign.

Commenting on the deal, Bishop said: We wanted to find a show that kids watched with their mums. A show that they could really connect with. Kids Stars captures this from the point of viewing through to the point of purchase.”

Last month Granada secured a ground breaking £3.5 million deal with HomePride to sponsor a range of high-profile programmes on ITV1. The six month deal, which covers a number of programmes including The Bill, This Morning and Trisha, represents the first time that a company has sponsored more than programme at the same time (see Granada Secures Innovative £3.5m Deal With HomePride).
