DoubleClick Signs Ad Management Deal With eBay

Digital advertising solutions group, DoubleClick, has secured eBay to use its online advertising technology to optimise its electronic ad inventory.

The deal will see DoubleClick provide the ad serving and management technology for eBay’s new keywords service, which enables eBay sellers to reach targeted buyers through bid per click keyword advertising. The online auction site will also use DoubleClick’s DART software for publishers, which audits and manages online ad campaigns.

Commenting on the deal, Mark Evans, director of planning and operations at eBay, said: “DoubleClick’s ad serving capability provides an important piece of the technology needed for our new keywords advertising service for eBay sellers. Our relationship with DoubleClick allows us to provide a robust marketing tool that will strengthen our sellers’ businesses within the eBay marketplace.”

Doug Knopper, vice president and general manager of online ad solutions at DoubleClick, added: “Our unique global capabilities and scale will ensure that eBay has the solutions needed in order to increase the efficiency of its online advertising programs, while delivering great value and performance for its community of users.”

DoubleClick recently partnered with AOL to launch a major research project into consumer attitudes to spam, as part of a series of initiatives to tackle the growing problem of junk email (see DoubleClick Teams With AOL For Spam Crackdown).
