Guardian To Sponsor Edinburgh Festivals Guide

The Guardian is to sponsor the official guide to this year’s Edinburgh festival guide, which will be available free to all festival-goers.
The A5 guide, which will take on a similar guise to the paper’s Saturday listings supplement, The Guide, will be supported by activity across this year’s six festivals; the Tattoo, Jazz, Books, Fringe, International and Film events, which will take place this summer.
The Guardian will be supporting its sponsorship arrangement with a number of outdoor ads on bus sides in Edinburgh throughout the festivals.
The Edinburgh Festivals Guide is being produced in association with the Edinburgh Fringe and will contain complete daily listings of festival performances and events for all six festivals, as well as news, features and reviews.
A sixteen-page mini guide listing all the best pubs and bars in the city will also be distributed with the London and Edinburgh editions of the Guardian’s Saturday listing magazine, The Guide, on July 26.
Commenting on the initiative, Marc Sands, marketing director of the Guardian, said: “The Edinburgh festivals are the perfect place to promote the Guardian’s excellent arts coverage and the Guardian’s Guide as a useful and informative listings tool. We are very proud of our long running association with the festivals.”
The Guardian recently announced it is to introduce a range of paid-for web content and services from later this month, including digital editions of the Guardian and the Observer (see Guardian To Charge For Web Content).
