🤖 OpenAI has held “early talks” with The Trade Desk to sell ads on ChatGPT via the demand-side platform. (The Information)

📺 The BBC has called for an end to political appointments to its board and for its royal charter be made permanent as part of its official response to ongoing charter renewal discussions. (The Guardian)

📰 The National Union of Journalists’ Reach group chapel has urged the publisher to halt cutbacks in staff, warning the company risks becoming “addicted to redundancies.” This comes after Reach revealed a 5.2% reduction in costs in 2025 which enabled the publisher to post a £104.7m profit despite a £20m drop in revenues. 🤖 Amazon Publisher Services is considering introducing chatbots as an advertising service. The aim would be to help power ad placements within third-party chatbots. (The Information)

💸 US President Donald Trump purchased between $600,000 and $1.25m worth of debt from Netflix in January, on top of the $500,000 to $1m in Netflix bonds he purchased in December, according to financial disclosures from the White House. The purchases occurred as Netflix battled Paramount for control of Warner Bros Discovery. (The Hollywood Reporter)

🎙️ Meanwhile, Netflix CFO Spencer Neumann revealed that video podcasts overindexed on mobile compared to the streamer’s film and television programming in Q1. He also noted the streamer’s podcasts slate saw more engagement during the day than traditional programming. (The Wrap)
