Times Online Re-Launches Travel Website

Times Online has announced plans to re-launch its travel website with the backing of an electronic brand marketing campaign designed to raise awareness of the initiative.

The new look website, available at www.timesonline.co.uk/travel provides travel information to users by country, city and type of holiday. It brings together content from The Sunday Times and The Times to provide in depth guides to travellers.

The site will provide special offers and last minute travel deals as well as hotel reviews, travel news and weather reports from around the world. The re-launch will be marked by a competition offering readers the chance to win an 11-day arctic adventure for two.

Commenting on the re-launch, Times Online’s editorial director, Keith Blackmore, said: “Times Online continues to build on its reputation with its independent travel audience because of the award winning independent travel journalism from the newspapers. By placing the best of that content into destination or activity specific sections, we are creating an invaluable resource for anyone thinking of travelling.”

The re-launch forms part of a marketing campaign across three key areas of the Times website, including the travel, appointment and business sections. The creatives for the campaign were designed and produced by Liquid Communications and incorporate the strapline: “Where its @ Times Online”(see Times Online Launches Brand Marketing Campaign).

The Times Online recently re-launched its business section in an attempt to allow users to assess information by industry sector, a method which has proved particularly successful for used by its subscription-based rival FT.com.
