SportsRevolution Poaches Sales Manager From Maiden

Stadium advertising company SportsRevolution has poached Maiden Outdoor’s regional sales manager, Anthony Robertson, to take the newly created position of head of sales with immediate effect.

The company, recently rebranded from MZUK, is the UK’s largest supplier of stadium advertising having recently secured the contract to sell space at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, which is now home to many of the nation’s top sporting events (see Stadium Advertising Group Announces Rebrand).

Robertson’s position will see him assume responsibility for expanding, training and managing SportsRevolution’s UK sales team. Robertson has a background in implementing sales strategies at Maiden and will be a valuable addition to the company’s staff.

Commenting on the appointment Mike Hodges, managing director of SportsRevolution, said: “We are continuing to extend our market share and adding Anthony to our team will enable us to accelerate that process. He brings an impressive mix of industry knowledge plus a proven track record in successful outdoor media sales.”

Competition in the sports marketing sector has seen growth recently with BLM launching a dedicated sports marketing division. The company, which aims to be fully operational by September, claims to provide a client first approach and rather than simply matching budgets to events, will exploit the role that sports play in the media mix (see BLM Launches Dedicated Sports Marketing Division).
