IPC Boosts Classified With New Sales Director

IPC Advertising has announced the promotion of Sharon Kirby, currently a head of sales with the magazine giant, to the position of classified sales director.

The new role will see Kirby working closely with IPC’s Learning and Development team to create a Sales Academy, streamlining staff training and ensuring they are well placed within the company. The new directors remit will also include expanding recruitment and training opportunities, a role which Kirby will begin immediately.

Continuing to report to group classified sales director, Cathy Neale, Kirby will retain her individual trading and management responsibilities across IPC SouthBank, ignite, Connect, tx and EML.

Commenting on the appointment Neale said: “This is a well-deserved promotion and great recognition for Sharon, who has not only sustained revenue growth across her portfolio, but has worked tirelessly to introduce many new initiatives across IPC Classified.”

Kirby added: “I am delighted to be able to continue working with my brands while really focusing on the recruitment and growth of talent for IPC Classified. I am determined that our Sales Academy will be the best in the industry, ensuring we are moulding the media stars of the future.”

IPC Advertising recently poached Paul Bates, one of Emap Esprit’s high-profile advertising directors, to head the management team of its women’s weekly division (see IPC Poaches Women’s Advertising Boss From Emap).
