Celebrities Hog The Limelight For ITV

Jenny Frost ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… continued to perform well last night, building on Sunday’s launch night success with an average adult audience of 8.8 million.

The programme secured a 38.8% share on average, peaking at 39.2% in the first 15 minutes with 8.9 million viewers.

Elsewhere, ITV saw success with a triple bill of Coronation Street, drawing 11 million on average for its first outing, and 10.1 million in its second. The third episode, shown after I’m a Celebrity… drew an average of 8.5 million.

BBC One also saw success with soap, as Eastenders drew an average of 10.6 million in the gap between Coronation Street‘s two episodes.

The Corporation failed to continue its success later in the evening, however, drawing 4 million against I’m a Celebrity’s 8.8 million, with modern Shakespearean adaptation, The Taming Of The Shrew.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 saw its largest audience of the evening with Prince Eddy: The King We Never Had drawing 2.9 million, while Five’s Home and Away drew 1.6 million adults to prove the highlight of its prime time broadcasts.
