New Five Drama Attracts Less Than One Million Adult Viewers

Tripping Over The launch of Five’s new drama, Tripping Over, managed to lure just over 800,000 adult viewers on average during its 10pm to 11pm timeslot, taking a 5% audience share.

The original series, written by the creator of Cold Feet and Life Begins, follows a group of 20-somethings travelling from London and Sydney who meet on a stopover in Bangkok.

MI5 drama Spooks on BBC One managed to gain more adult viewers than ITV1’s Vincent, taking an average of 5.4 million compared to 4.7 million for the Ray Winstone drama. The shows took a 24.6% and 22.5% viewing share respectively.

Coronation Street once again broke the 10 million mark (see Corrie Double Bill Lures 10 Million To ITV1) with its first instalment on ITV1 taking around a 50% viewing share at the time, whilst the second episode of the soap lured 9.6 million adults on average, a 42.4% share.

Eastenders on BBC One managed 8.8 million (41%) whilst Wife Swap on Channel 4 was watched by 2.1 million adults on average, an almost 10% share between 9pm and 10pm.
