Jonathan Ross Wins Battle Of The Chatshows

BBC Logo The Charlotte Church Show on Friday night brought in a peak of 1.6 million adult viewers (a 9% audience share), but this was no match for Jonathan Ross on BBC1.

Charlotte Church’s show, which was on for an hour from 10pm, attracted an average audience of 1.5 million adults, whilst Friday Night With Jonathan Ross had an average audience figure of 4.1 million adults in its later timeslot, from 10.35pm-11.35pm

ITV1’s Rebus, the first in a four part series featuring the maverick Edinburgh cop, did well at 9pm, with an average audience of 5.1 million adults (a 27% audience share) across its one and a half hour running time.

On Saturday, Sky One showed the first high-definition music event on TV (see Sky One To Show First HD Live Music Broadcast) when it screened Robbie Williams Live: A Close Encounter.

The concert, on from 9pm-11pm, attracted an average audience of 814,000 viewers (a 5.5% audience share) and a peak figure of 1 million viewers (a 6.7% audience share) around halfway into proceedings.
