Extras Returns With 3.3 Million Viewers

Ricky Gervais Extras returned to our screens last night, bringing in a peak audience of 3.3 million adults (a 16.2% audience share) all wanting to witness the cringeworthy escapades of the assorted guest stars.

For those of us unlucky enough to miss an episode of the award winning BBC2 show, viewers are able to catch up with it online on the BBC website.

Channel Five showed Tottenham Hotspur’s first match in the EUFA cup last night, although not many people decided to watch it, with a peak audience of just 1.5 million adults (a 7.6% audience share).

ITV had a pretty good night, with Emmerdale, as usual, attracting a large audience. The rural soap opera brought in an average audience of 6.6 million adults (a 37.9% share) across its half hour running time.

The Bill also did well for the channel, attracting a peak audience of 5.1 million adults (a 25% audience share) and an average audience of 4.8 million adults (a 24% share) in its 8pm timeslot.

Rounding off a strong evening for the broadcaster, Bad Girls, the women’s prison drama, attracted a peak audience of 4.2 million adults (a 21.6% audience share).

The biggest audience of the night however, went to Eastenders on BBC1, which garnered a peak audience of 7.6 million adults (a 40.3% share of the audience).
