Today sees GCap Media’s London-based indie station, Xfm, launch a new look schedule, just months after re-organising its breakfast routine in the build up to its launch in Manchester.
The station’s new line up will give a more prominent role to new music guru John Kennedy, Rock DJ Ian Camfield and resident remixer Eddy Temple-Morris.
Both Kennedy and Camfield will see their shows extended by one hour and two hours respectively, with the two DJs also seeing their shows networked shows across London and Manchester. Eddy Temple Morris will see his show networked, but will not be given extra air-time in the new schedule.
Other changes will see Claire Sturgess move from her weekday X-Posure Part 1 show to a new music show on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, while Marsha will now host Xfm’s new Weekend Breakfast Show, replacing Sarah Darling who continues to work with Ian Camfield on Music:Response.
The station’s breakfast line up will remain unchanged, with Lauren Laverne hosting the morning show from Monday to Thursday, while the station gears up for the weekend with Friday mornings hosted by Shaun Keaveny (see Xfm Shakes Up DJs To Give Listeners Friday Feeling).
Xfm Manchester will begin broadcasting at 8am this Wednesday, with a slew of local music legends hosting shows in between networked content from its London sister station (see GCap Signs Manchester Music Icons For Regional Xfm).
