Halfway Housemates Half Interest Viewers

Shannessa & David Evicted From BB House The evictions of white witch David and ‘care worker’ Shanessa didn’t muster much interest for Big Brother viewers. Friday night’s eviction attracted an average adult viewership of 3.2 million for the 8.30pm to 9.30pm show, and this fell further to three million for their eviction interviews. Compared to the previous week’s eviction of motormouth Charley Uchea, viewing dropped by 600,000 and 1.3 million respectively.

Meanwhile Saturday night’s ratings war between BBC One’s DanceX and ITV1’s Baby Ballroom saw the commercial channel edge ahead with the greater viewer total. 3.1 million tuned in to watch the junior version of Strictly Come Dancing, while the battle between Team Arlene and Team Bruno only mustered an average rating of 2.6 million.

BBC One comfortably won the rest of the Saturday night ratings, with long-running serial drama Casualty and one-off drama Empathy easily beating ITV1’s offerings of Millionaire and repeat showing of Jaws 2. The medical drama attained a rating of 5.2 million, while the supernatural drama had 4.4 viewers captivated.

The final two-part story from The Commander still attracted decent viewing figures. The story revolving around the stabbing of a priest attracted 5.2 million viewers, 700,000 ahead of timeslot rival Mountain featuring Griff Rhys Jones on BBC One.
