The decision to move popular US import drama Grey’s Anatomy to Sunday night hasn’t seen the show pick up any extra viewers for Five.
The two-hour double bill opening for the second season attracted ratings of 746,000 and 768,000, down by nearly a million compared to 1.7 million for the opening episode of the first season.
Channel 4’s network premiere of the Will Smith sci-fi film, I Robot, attracted a solid number of viewers for its terrestrial premiere on Sunday. Just over three million viewers watched the two-hour film, with an average share of 14.3%.
The most watched programme on Sunday was the final edition of Inspector Morse spin-off, Lewis, which attained 8.2 million viewers. Earlier in the evening, BBC Two’s popular motoring show, Top Gear, managed to edge out ITV1’s safari drama Wild At Heart. Jeremy Clarkson and the boys attracted 7.12 million viewers, while Amanda Holden had 7.05 million watching.
Elsewhere, Saturday’s final of Pokerface attracted its best rating of the current series, with six million adults tuning in to see Dominic Jackson scoop the £1 million jackpot.
The hour-long show attracted an average adult audience of 5.7 million viewers, with a peak audience of 6.2 million during the 15-mintue period between 9.30pm and 9.45pm as the contest reached its conclusion. The gameshow easily beat its direct competition, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, and the Vicar of Dibley on BBC One, which attracted 3.9 million and 3.4 million respectively.
