Wired Attracts Over 5 Million Viewers

ITV Logo ITV1’s new drama Wired pulled in over 5 million peak viewers, with an average 21.3% audience share, last night.

The first in the new high-finance drama series, with Jodie Whittaker and Charlie Brooks, secured a decent average audience of 4.8 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm.

At the same time, BBC One’s Crimewatch banked 4.1 million average viewers with a 18.2% audience share, while BBC Two’s Amazon with Bruce Parry picked up a respectable 3 million viewers.

However, Channel 4’s feature-length drama, The Shooting of Thomas Hurndall, failed to impress viewers and only managed to attract 545,000 people, with a 2.7% audience share between 9pm and 11pm.

Channel Five’s Unbreakable – ‘The Norwegian School of Winter Warfare’ – came ahead of Channel 4, with 750,000 viewers and an average 3.3% audience share during the hour-long 9pm to 10pm slot.

Meanwhile, the soaps managed to pull in the top viewing figures of the evening – ITV1’s Coronation Street knocked BBC One’s Eastenders’ off the top spot with more than 10 million peak viewers.
