Sunshine Proves Popular With Almost 4m Viewers

BBC One Logo BBC One’s new comedy, Sunshine, proved to be a hit with almost four million viewers and a 16.7% audience share between 9pm and 10pm last night.

The new comedy drama series, starring Steve Coogan as Bob ‘Bing’ Crosby, attracted the peak audience during most of the hour-long prime-time slot, with an average audience of 3.6 million viewers.

Meanwhile, BBC Two also aired two new programmes yesterday evening – Twiggy’s Frock Exchange at 8pm and British Style Genius at 9pm.

Twiggy’s Frock Exchange pulled in 1.8 million average viewers, while British Style Genius attracted just over one million viewers.

ITV1’s Cops with Cameras managed to scoop the peak audience from BBC One between 9.30pm and 9.45pm, with 3.5 million viewers and an average 16.2% audience share.

However, the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Nurses Special banked 4.3 million average viewers and a 19.7% audience share during the 8pm to 9pm slot.

Elsewhere, Channel 4 scheduled its popular run of the controversial Sex Education Show, Jamie’s Ministry of Food and Dawn Porter: Mail Order Bride, between 8pm and 11pm.

Jamie’s Ministry of Food gained the highest ratings during the 9pm to 10pm slot, with 3.1 million viewers and an average 14.3% audience share.

The Sex Education Show with Anna Richardson picked up over two million peak viewers, while Dawn Porter’s trip to Russia and Ukraine attracted 1.9 million peak viewers.
