Cable Shows Higher C2DE Profile Than Satellite

There are now 2,716,000 homes in Britain with satellite TV, according to GfK’s latest universe estimates for August. This is an increase of 31,000 homes on July 1994 and an increase of over 400,000 on August 1993.GfK’s latest figures for Cable are for July and show the number of homes connected at 841,000, an increase of 10,000 on April 1994 and 240,000 on July 1993.

GfK’s research also shows that cable subscribers are more skewed towards the C2DE group than satellite subscribers, with 67% of cable subscribers falling into this category compared to 58% for satellite.
