Proposals For Developments To Rajar
Roger Gane, Executive Director of RAJAR, announced in Dublin on Saturday some of the ideas being discussed to develop its methods of collecting and reporting RAJAR data, in order to make it a “stable overall media currency”.
Possibilities include:-
1. Altering the diary format. A diary with stick-in labels for station names is being piloted in parallel with this current quarter’s research.
2. Increasing sample sizes, especially in metropolitan areas where services are more fragmented.
3. Collecting sample data on a rolling basis, in order to smooth out possible discrepancies, e.g. sharp audience share swings.
4. Standardising reporting frequencies, so that all stations on the survey report quarterly.
