E4’s New Horror Series Is A Dead Set

E4 Logo E4’s new horror series, Dead Set, attracted over 1.3 million peak viewers to the satellite channel last night, more than double the amount compared with the same time slot last week.

The Dawn of the Dead style zombie series – on every night this week – is set in the Big Brother house. It pulled in an average of over 1.1 million viewers, with an 8.2% audience share between 10pm and 11pm.

Dead Set, starring Jaime Winstone, also features cameos from Davina McCall and former Big Brother housemates.

However, the new series of Spooks stole the show on the terrestrial channels, picking up a peak of over 5.6 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm.

The return of the espionage drama to BBC One, with Peter Firth and Rupert Penry-Jones, attracted an average of 5.5 million viewers with a 23.3% audience share.

Meanwhile, the last in the series of ITV1’s Wired only picked up 3.1 million average viewers with a 13.2% audience share.

At the same time, Channel 4’s new Embarrassing Teenage Bodies, the first of four due to be aired this week, banked three million peak viewers, while BBC Two’s Prescott: The Class System and Me pulled in a respectable 2.8 million peak viewers.
