Sky and Times Online launch new video partnership

News Corporation’s Sky News and Times Online have launched a joint video project this week.

The venture will see Sky News, who already provides videos for Times Online, share production duties with The Times and The Sunday Times.

Some of the videos produced and branded by the two groups will also appear on the Sky News website, according to reports.

John Ryley, head of Sky News, said: “These are early days, but we anticipate a strong potential for expansion of this partnership between Sky News and The Times in the future.”

James Harding, editor of The Times, added: “We have more than 20 million unique monthly users and in the time that we have been developing our partnership with Sky the number of people watching video on our site has trebled.”

In the latest ABCe release, Times online reported a month on month increase of 3.21%, with up to 20.3 million people logging in over a month (see ABCe: Three National Newspaper Sites Pass 20m Unique Users).
