Five due to launch on Freesat

Freesat Logo Five is set to become channel 105 on the free-to-air digital platform Freesat later this month.

Freesat will now host the full range of PSB channels with Five the last to launch on the platform, following BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 and Channel 4.

However, digital channels Fiver and Five US will not be available when Five launches on November 18, unlike other PSB digital channels such as ITV2 and E4.

Emma Scott, managing director of Freesat, said: “We’ve been looking forward to welcoming Five onto Freesat since we launched.

“Five is a fantastic addition and we’re thrilled that the large number of homes that have already chosen Freesat will now be able to enjoy Five alongside around 140 other channels,” she added.

Freesat, which launched in the UK in May, offers terrestrial and digital television and radio services without a subscription or contract (see Freesat Launches Today).
