Channel 4’s Big Brother topped BBC One and ITV1 last night with more than three million viewers tuning in during the all-important 9pm to 10pm time slot.
The reality programme gained a 14.6% audience share, with 3.3 million peak viewers catching up on the latest Rex and Nicole drama last night.
Meanwhile, ITV1’s medical drama Harley Street attracted just 2.9 million viewers with a 14.2% audience share at the same time.
BBC One’s last in the series of The Making of Me continued to debate the nature or nurture theory with violinist Vanessa Mae, discovering her musical talent was most likely the result of years of practice.
The show attracted more than 2.8 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm, gaining a 13.7% audience share, just behind ITV1 and Channel 4.
BBC Two managed to pick up a respectable 12.8% audience share with Mock of the Week with Ed Byrne and Zoe Lyons at 9pm.
Elsewhere, BBC One triumphed with Eastenders’ hour-long special, pulling in more than eight million peak viewers and an average 38.8% audience share between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
