BBC Worldwide has appointed Helen Kellie, formerly of the BBC, to the new position of director of marketing.
Kellie will be responsible for creating a more consumer-facing international operation, building up BBC Worldwide’s marketing and audience research functions.
Reporting directly to the chief executive John Smith, Kellie will also be expected to prioritise international marketing activity and spend, according to reports.
Previously, Kellie worked as director of marketing, communications, audiences and vision at the BBC – helping to launch BBC Three and CBBC.
Kellie joined the BBC in 2000 as head of brand and planning, working on marketing campaigns for shows including Dr Who and Strictly Come Dancing.
BBC Worldwide recently reported a 17% increase in annual operating profits to around £117.7 million.
