The Secret Millionaire Banks Over 4 Million Viewers

Channel 4 Channel 4’s penultimate The Secret Millionaire show, with haulage tycoon Hilary Devey, banked more than four million viewers last night.

The popular series has consistently reached high viewing figures and yesterday’s programme, set in Rochdale, was no exception, securing a peak audience of over 4.2 million viewers and a 17.6% audience share.

Meanwhile, BBC One’s Mutual Friends, starring Marc Warren and Alexander Armstrong, pulled in an average of more than 3.6 million viewers with a 16% audience share between the same 9pm to 10pm time slot.

The National Movie Awards, which is new to ITV1 as part of its autumn line-up, attracted more than three million peak viewers with an average 12.4% audience share between 8pm and 10pm.

James Nesbitt hosted the ceremony from London’s Royal Festival Hall, giving awards for the most successful movies in the last year, including The Dark Knight, Mamma Mia! and Sex and the City.

Emmerdale peaked with the most viewers all evening earlier on ITV1 – picking up a peak of more than six million viewers, with an average audience share of 28.8% between 7pm and 8pm.
