Condé Nast is today launching the 15th global edition of its men’s magazine GQ and an accompanying website in India.
The monthly magazine will be on sale at 5,500 different outlets, with 35,000 copies of the first issue being distributed in 40 Indian towns and cities.
The launch issue features the country’s leading Bollywood star, Ali Khan and the cricket player, Yuvraj Singh.
The October edition will also features the fashion icon, Arjun Rampal and, an exclusive interview with the steel tycoon Aditya Mittal.
Che Kurrien will be responsible for editing GQ India and its accompanying website, gqmagazine.in.
Condé Nast has been making plans to launch an Indian edition of the men’s title since April, following the success of Vogue’s launch in India in 2007.
Condé Nast India was one of the first companies to be established after the change of regulations in 2005, which allowed non-news publications to become wholly foreign owned.
