Capital FM Reveals 5th Rebrand

Capital Capital Radio reveals its new look and line rebrand to 95.8 Capital FM – “London’s Number 1 Hit Music Station”.

It is the station’s fifth re-brand in less than three years, with the latest slogan adding to the last 95.8 Capital FM “London’s Hit Music Station” rebrand in December 2007.

The new design and slogan was launched on the station’s website yesterday.

Richard Park, group executive director and director of broadcasting at Global, said: “The new 95.8 Capital FM logo represents the people of London and their hit music station.”

He added: “The simplistic and vibrant design reflects the iconic status of 95.8 Capital FM as it moves forward as part of Global Radio.”

Capital FM is one of the only regional radio stations to retain its own brand name, as Global announced plans to axe the names of 29 local radio stations in a statement last week (see Global Radio Set To Get Rid Of Local Station Names In National Rebrand).

In latest Rajar figures, Capital FM’s breakfast show with Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowden remained the top commercial station in London, with a weekly reach of just under 945,000 listeners following a year on year increase of around 0.5% (see Capital Radio’s Breakfast Show Remains On Top In London).
