Virgin Mobile has signed a deal to sponsor series nine of Channel 4 show Big Brother this summer.
The sponsorship will mainly be used to promote Virgin Mobile, although parent company Virgin Media will also push some of its other services around the show.
It is believed that this year’s show will launch in late May or June, later than previous series.
James Kydd, managing director of marketing and brand for Virgin Media, said: “Big Brother is still the biggest reality TV phenomenon on the box.
“When it’s not being broadcast on Channel 4, we look forward to keeping fans up to date via our mobile, TV and web portal platforms.”
Virgin Media bagged the sponsorship of last year’s Big Brother after Carphone Warehouse dropped their deal following a row over racist bullying in the last celebrity edition of the show (see Carphone Warehouse Hangs Up On Big Brother).
