Online TV and film site Blinkbox has signed new deals with Twentieth Century Fox and Sony Pictures Television in a bid to increase its online content offering.
The Twentieth Century Fox deal will allow users to access premium films, including new releases Juno and Jumper, according to reports.
Users will also be able to purchase films such as Snatch and Taxi Driver, as well as edited versions of classic TV shows such as Starsky & Hutch following the new deals.
In addition, Blinkbox has extended its partnership with Warner Bros to feature a number of full-length episodes of programmes the day after UK broadcast, including Smallville and The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Michael Comish, Blinkbox CEO, said: “On-demand and web services are one of the few growth areas of the entertainment industry. With one of the best digital catalogues in the UK, we’re well positioned to become the leading aggregator online.”
Last week, Twentieth Century Fox signed a deal with BT, which enables BT Vision customers to access a range of new and classic film titles (see BT signs on-demand film deal with Fox).
