ITV holds on to the top spot

ITV’s run of Emmerdale, Coronation Street and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! managed to secure ITV1 with the peak audience all evening.

Emmerdale kicked off at 7pm with over 7.1 million viewers and a 33.3% audience share, followed by Coronation Street, which gained an impressive 43.3% average audience share between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

More than 10.5 million peak viewers tuned in to watch Corrie’s dramatic one-hour special, which saw killer Tony and Carla finally tie the knot, while Maria convinced Rosie to show her the incriminating video clip of Liam and Carla’s kiss.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! followed with 8.6 million average viewers and a 36.2% audience share between 8.30pm and 10pm.

Meanwhile, BBC One’s new series of the investigative Rogue Traders with Matt Allwright only to attract 3.6 million average viewers and a 15.2% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.

At the same time, BBC Two’s Heroes managed to pip Channel 4’s The Devil Whore during the hour-long peak slot with 1.9 million and 1.6 million average viewers respectively.
