The video-on-demand venture known as Project Kangaroo has appointed Daniel Best to head up its ad sales.
Best has joined Vodco, the holding company set up by the partners developing the project – BBC Worldwide, ITV and Channel 4.
He will work on a consultancy basis to kick-start discussions for the VoD platform as well as focusing on the model for display and sponsorship ad sales.
Best has previously worked for The Independent as online commercial manager and most recently at Double Fusion as commercial director of sales in Europe.Further appointments are due to be made by the company after Ashley Highfield starts his role as chief executive, according to a BBC Worldwide spokesman.
Highfield is set to review the whole service when he takes up his position at Kangaroo on July 1 (see Highfield To Leave BBC For Kangaroo).
The broadband TV service is due to launch this autumn, months earlier than expected (see Kangaroo Could Launch This Autumn).
