Channel 4 Levy Estimates

C4 estimate that by the end of the present 10 year licence period they will have paid ITV more than £200m-ITV will this year receive £30m+ from C4. The estimates are based on the 1990 Broadcasting Act’s stipulation which states that if C4’s share of net terrestrial revenue exceeds 14% then 50% of the excess goes to ITV.

CHANNEL 4 RUNS THROUGH THE NIGHT

C4 will run through the night on Friday and Saturday nights from the end of November until Xmas – thereafter in 5-6 week batches at various times through- out 1994. Programming will be aimed at mid teens to 35 year old – mainly music and comedy.
