Harley Street Failed To Impress Again With 2.8 Million Viewers

Paul Nicholls In Harley Street ITV1’s Harley Street failed to win over viewers with the second episode in the series, losing one million viewers since last weeks poorly-received debut show.

The new glossy medical drama only managed to pull in 2.8 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm last night, an average 13.8% audience share, slipping 4% in a week (see On The Fiddle Leaves Harley Street Feeling Sick).

BBC One’s new series, John Barrowman: The Making of Me, attracted a 18.2% audience share with 3.7 million viewers at the same time.

The programme, which analyses celebrities in an attempt to discover whether nature or nurture is responsible for their defining traits, peaked at 9.45pm with 4.1 million viewers.

BBC One’s Eastenders was back on track last night with nearly seven million viewers, a 39.2% audience share between 7.30pm and 8pm.

The flagship soap pulled in less than five million viewers just days ago – its worst figures for over a year (see Eastenders Slips Below 5 Million Viewers).

BBC One also came out on top between 8pm and 9pm with Celebrity Masterchef’s penultimate show, featuring John Torode and Gregg Wallace, with 5.3 million viewers.

The programme heated up when one of the finalist cracked under pressure and walked out of the kitchen, leaving fellow chefs hungry for their main course.

It gained an average 27.5% audience share, with nearly 6 million peak viewers between 8.45pm and 9pm.

Channel 4 peaked with Big Brother, which gained 2.8 million viewers between 9 and 10pm, rivaling ITV1’s Harley Street with the same audience share during the one-hour slot.
