Inspirations – First Issue Review
Today the new home crafts magazine is launched from GE Publishing, with an initial print run of 150,000.
The glossy monthly is aimed at 25-44 year old ABC1 women, and is full of hints and tips on decorating the home, as well as explaining various crafts.
The editorial contains articles on auctions, a papier mache jewellery designer, Boulogne and the Science Museum. There are regulars such as a problem page, the next month’s diary, with things to do and places to go, a consumer review and craft courses.
There are also ideas for crafts for the kitchen, flowers, children, needlework and the general home each month.
Ideas in this month’s issue include stencilling, (and included with the title is a free stencil and brush), cake decorating hints from Jane Asher, embroidery, making a doll’s house and how to freeze dry flowers.
There are lots of glossy photographs; and the title is full of tips and ideas for the reader, not long detailed articles. The reader does not have to be especially practical, as the emphasis is on simplicity. Included are ready to cut out designs andtapestry templates.
Inspirations has launched with a print run of 150,000, which is way above the circulation of any other crafts magazine currently available.
