Pink Paper is to cease publishing its fortnightly print edition and become an online-only free title.
The gay and lesbian title, which originally launched in 1987 and relaunched in 2005 under Millivres Prowler, will be suspended from the end of the month.
However, the plans are not expected to result in any redundancies at the publisher.
MPG said it will continue developing Pink Paper‘s daily online offering and its weekly e-newsletter, Pink Paper Xtra.
Pink Paper is not ABC audited but claims to have a circulation of 50,000 readers.
Its website pinkpaper.com attracts 33,000 unique users a month and 98,000 page views per month, according to MPG.
The print edition has struggled during the economic downturn, particularly by drops in recruitment, housing and display advertising.
