ITV1’s Sunday evening run of Lewis and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories proved to be a winner once again, securing the highest ratings from 8pm onwards.
The third episode in the four-part Lewis series, with Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox, pulled in almost 6.5 million peak viewers and a 25% average audience share between 8pm and 10pm last night.
The last in the series of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories followed – with former This Morning presenter and Judy Finnigan’s other half Richard Madeley – attracting 3.8 million peak viewers and a 19.1% share between 10pm and 11pm.
Meanwhile, BBC One’s No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, starring Jill Scott as Mma Ramotswe, picked up more than 3.4 million average viewers and a 13.7% share during the all-important 9pm to 10pm peak-hour.
At the same time, Channel 4’s new Secret Millionaire series attracted 3.2 million average viewers and a 12.7% share, while BBC Two’s award-winning drama with Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt, Five Minutes of Heaven, pulled in over 2.3 million peak viewers and a 9.1% share.
Five’s film premiere of the satirical comedy with Jim Carrey – Fun with Dick and Jane – picked up 1.1 million average viewers and a 5% share between 9pm and 10.45pm.
On Saturday, BBC One’s evening line-up stole the show – with a peak-run of most of The Total Wipeout Awards, The National Lottery, Casualty, BBC News, Match of the Day and Grand National Highlights.
The channel’s coverage of the Grand National also managed to secure more than 8.5 million peak viewers and a high 33.8% average audience share earlier on in the day.
In the evening, BBC One’s long-running hospital drama Casualty pulled in the highest ratings with 6.7 million peak viewers and a 30.8% average share.
BBC One also managed to bank the peak audience on Friday evening from 9pm onwards with the Real Swiss Family Robinson, BBC News at Ten and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
